The Da Vinci Code
I was quite excited to read this after the initial hype following its release, and since I quite enjoyed the movie adaptation. It took barely even a few chapters for me to be questioning the taste of all those folks before me who've praised this story; the writing seems on par with that of a lazy high-schooler, the characters are watery, the story itself is stretched thin and drawn too far out. I read on, hoping that it would get better; it didn't. I was hugely disappointed.
